As part of the EdCounsel team, Ashlyn defends public school districts with enthusiastic determination and a deep appreciation for public education and educators. She uses her experience in insurance defense litigation, where she represented companies and individuals in Missouri and Kansas in a variety of personal injury, wrongful death, and premises liability suits, to provide excellent representation to school districts and insurers.

Ashlyn has supported public education from a young age. She attended Springfield Public Schools, earned Bachelor’s Degrees in Philosophy and Global Studies at Missouri State University, and received her Juris Doctor from Ohio State University. After remembering it fondly from her own childhood, she spent several years volunteering at Phelps Center for Gifted Education. She later worked in the Office of University Compliance and Integrity at OSU helping to create and clarify university policies.

Ashlyn lives in Springfield and manages the firm’s Springfield office. When she isn’t in the office, Ashlyn enjoys spending time with her friends and family, playing board games, and traveling. She is the proud mom of two cats, Samira and Lyra.
