Scott brings a wide variety of educational and legal experience to EdCounsel.  Before attending law school at the University of Missouri, he was an educator for 15 years serving as a high school English teacher, a middle school principal, and coached basketball, volleyball, and golf.

He previously worked as an attorney for the Jefferson County, Missouri Juvenile Office handling abuse and neglect child welfare cases, as well as juvenile delinquency matters, before relocating back to Columbia where he worked for the Missouri School Boards’ Association for the past nine years.

Scott has a strong passion for helping students succeed, and that’s why he is honored to be able to work with school districts every day to help them deliver the best possible educational outcomes for students.

When he’s not helping school districts, Scott enjoys spending time with his wife, Debbie, a licensed clinical social worker, and their dog, Amelia.  You’ll also find him on the golf course trying to break 80!
