“I love the practice of law, but I love education and public schools as well. Now I have a chance to do both, be a part of both worlds!”

Kristen grew up in a family of educators. After completing high school at the Wheatland R-II School District, she attended Southwest Baptist University. While there Kristen earned a degree in secondary education and worked as a substitute teacher and assistant high school softball coach. Kristen attended the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law originally wanting to pursue a career in government but fell in love with litigation and obtained a Litigation Law Certificate along with her J.D. This new love, as well as her longstanding admiration of education, resulted in Kristen’s career with EdCounsel.

As a part of the EdCounsel team, Kristen represents public schools in both litigation and general legal matters. Her combination of legal experience and background in education provides Kristen with valuable and unique insights when applying legal principles to a school district’s daily operations.

After spending a few years in EdCounsel’s Independence office, she is excited to be back in Southwest Missouri working out of EdCounsel’s new Springfield office. Kristen is dedicated to public education, values traditions, and is a proud American (even her office décor is red, white, and blue). When she is not at the office, you can usually find her at a ball game, on the family farm, or simply spending time with friends and family.
