“I love the practice of law, but I love education and public schools as well. Now I have a chance to do both, be a part of both worlds!”

Kristen grew up in a family of educators.  After completing high school at the Wheatland R-II School District, she attended Southwest Baptist University.  While there Kristen earned a degree in secondary education and worked as a substitute teacher and assistant high school softball coach.  Kristen attended the University of Missouri—Kansas City School of Law originally wanting to pursue a career in government but fell in love with litigation and obtained a Litigation Law Certificate along with her J.D.  This new love, as well as her longstanding admiration of education, resulted in Kristen’s career with EdCounsel.

Kristen and her siblings, pictured with their mother who is a public school administrator, are all products of public education.

As a part of the EdCounsel team, Kristen represents public schools in both litigation and general legal matters.  Her combination of law experience, received from working for a private law firm, and background in education provides Kristen with valuable and unique insight when applying legal principles to a school district’s daily operations.

Kristen is dedicated to public education and a proud American (even her office décor is red, white, and blue).  She is equally dedicated to her family whom she takes the time to visit often in her hometown of Wheatland, Missouri. Kristen values traditions and making memories with family.
