Chris grew up in a family of public school educators. He is the son of a retired teacher (who also happens to have been his favorite teacher!) and nephew to a retired superintendent and teacher. He graduated from Webb City High School before continuing his education at the University of Oklahoma graduating with distinction.  Chris then obtained his J.D. from Washburn University School of Law in Topeka, Kansas, where he was a member of the law journal.  While in Topeka, he interned for a United States Magistrate Judge.  He then went on to serve as a judicial law clerk in the Eastern District of Missouri.

Before joining EdCounsel, Chris worked as in house counsel for a large corporation then in general civil litigation for a private Kansas City law firm.  During his career, he has handled a wide range of legal issues, allowing him to provide EdCounsel’s clients with excellent legal guidace.

Chris lives in Kansas City with his wife Michelle, who is an instructional coach, and their five children, Ellie, Collin, Caitlin, Addison and Oliver. He enjoys working out, fishing and watching Oklahoma Sooners football on Saturdays in the fall.
